Timing and habits
Bazaar shops open around 10 am, many close for a couple of hours in the afternoon, and the lanes are busiest between 6 and 9 pm. Sunday is quieter in Camp and busier in the markets. Carry a cloth bag — plastic is restricted and shops charge for alternatives.
Bargaining is normal in the bazaars and out of place in showrooms. For gold and electronics, ask for a proper GST bill and warranty card rather than a cash discount.
